This is my fifth? track day 7/19/2004, but my first at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. I wanted to do a different track, and Mid-Ohio seemed grandeous :) The particular track day was sponsored by the AMA and hosted by Sportbiketracktime.

The cost for this track day was $195 + $39 (required AMA membership) + $10 gate fee.

We had 6? 20 minute sessions for a total of 1.5 - 2 hours of track time (about 120 miles). The format was simply 20 minute sessions where you drive around the track. There was no track walk or leapfrog, etc. Essentially the rules were safe passing only, 6 ft passing clearence.

The racing surface of the track was rather unique. It was composed of asphalt with cement areas. The cement areas were ground down like in construction areas / they were grooved. The traction was similar on both surfaces, but I was uneasy about it for the first 3 runs. I did notice (or think i did at least) my rear tire sliding on the cement a few times. Once I got into a grove and started hanging off the bike, I felt more comfortable.

The day was rather uneventful for me, no real incidents. Several people went off track though. The ambulance never went on the track :)

The track was good size (2.4mi or so). The track was plenty wide for motorcycles. It did have alot more turns then the other tracks I have been to. It would definately tack me another track day to get near having a clean lap.

I also decided to buy the digital photos that Sliderphoto.com took. They were $40 for a CD (20 pics in my case). They downsize the pics so they aren't great for printing (2000 wide). They sell the printed photo on their website. Here are those pics:
